It accomplishes the task the manufacturer designed it to do perfectly: it sucks money out of your wallet.

So, if you get it for free, it just sucks.

I bought 2 of them just for kicks. One is on my 2002 Firebird and the other is on my wifes 2002 Malibu. I think it worked a little. The Firebird was a little hard to tell because I switched to Mobil 1 Synthetic at exactly the same time but my mileage went from 19 to 21. Doesn't sound like much but that's about 10 percent. The car is very consistent city or highway generally.

My wifes car without any other changes also went up about 10 percent but hers was a little hard to tell because that car gets radically different mileage from city to highway. Either way it went up if anything at all.

The Tornado website is intrigueing because you can actually look at a specific car and see their claimed results.

As far as the manufacturer comment. If you used the same logic on car stereos and stock air filters, tires, oil, gasoline as the car comes off the lot ... the argument doesn't stand. Stock air filters are the cheapest thing available in most cases and stock radios are notoriously bad. So I don't buy that argument in general. Also K & N Air filters really work and they are almost always an aftermarket upgrade. Also have you rebuilt a Slant Six and done a porting and polishing of the head or seen all the leftover casting sand in the engine. Was that by design? I doubt it.

Oops, I misread panic's comment sorry. But I think my argument stands. Sorry.

I think if you install one and get a 10% increase, and get the pellets to put in your cylinders for 10%, and the oil additive for 10%, magnets on your fuel line for 10%. we would no longer be dependent on foreign oil. :D

Then you could bolt on a 250 horsepower shot of nitrous and get all of your horsepower for FREE!!! ;)

magnets on the fuel lines, never heard of that one. how is it supposed to work? sounds like the devise might have some effect on fuel injected cars.

Magnets on fuel lines? I think I remember that one... I saw another one recently, where you put it inline with your fuel line, like a fuel filter, except it contained platinum. Supposedly it will allow for a more complete burn by letting in tiny amounts of platinum into the fuel supply. Their reasoning was if platinum in catalayic converters burns off unused fuel in exhaust, platinum in the combustion chamber will help with the burn as well.

The advertising hype on the magnets is: The magnets align the fuel molicules, and let them burn more completely.
