Post subject: WHERE can you actually buy the Dutra duals? (Mon Jul 16, 2001 5:12 pm) Reply with quote

I've been interested for years, but I've always given up and gone the V-8 route because it seems like there are never any clear cut ways for an "outsider" to get performance /6 parts.
Once I finally found this page I thought I had it! But I can't find an address or price etc. I've heard that the Clifford site is higher priced than buying direct *** BUT *** you can't buy direct because that's a secret too and they are crooks or some other story!
I even posted a sign at Carlisle that I wanted /6 parts and or Dutra duals and someone ripped it down and I found it in the dirt.
Please help I'd like to do something with this 67 225 I bought. Sorry if I ranted a little, it just gets frustrating.....

First, I suggest you do a search on this page and find all the entries concerning Dutra Duals. You can't get them from Clifford, because they don't have access to them

and they are crooks or some other story!

Well, you're right about that.

Where can you get Dutra Duals? Why, direct from ole Doug, hisself! Sit tight, and keep tabs on this message. He'll probably answer here on the board, or maybe a direct email to you. Don't quote me on this, but i think his asking price is about $220 for a front casting. You have to modify your factory exhaust, and combine a front casting for the "complete" package.

Thanks Roger, I did send Eric an email directly.

Yes, the "Dutra" casting is still priced at $220.00 and there are a number of options for the rear section, the most popular being the modified factory manifold as you noted and as outlined in the article section of the site.
I see more and more interest in running a pair of the new casting (front and rear) now that the casting will support that. I just put this set-up on my Cuda Dragcar and hope to do some performance testing in the next few weeks.

It is turning into a real busy summer for me and some recent changes in my work schedule keeps me away from the computer...thanks goes out to all the "regulars" on the www.slantsix.org message board for keeping an eye on things and answering posts as they come-up. Feel free to "flag" Chuck or myself if you see anything needing our quick attention.

Doug,

I have one of your new castings on the front, and a modified factory manifold on the rear. I'm interested in buying one of your "new" castings for the rear as well. When you put one on your Cuda dragcar, could you see any problems getting to the starter if you needed to? I have a newer lightweight Mopar starter on mine. I know I would lose the factory carb heat from the modified stock manifold, but I would still like to do this. Most of the time, its plenty hot here in Texas!

Take it easy Doug,

Thanks,

Wes

Doug,

Let's get the Duals info posted on www.dutra.org (with prices and contact info) and I will put the Duals logo up here and link to your site. Your next career is unfolding!
