I currently have a 74 duster with a 3 speed . What do I need to change over to a 4 speed?

You need a good search tool and some time. There are many options, many are laid out on this site. Try starting with the articles and message threads about 4 speeds....then search 5 speed. Ask for more detail as you review the posted info.

1974...

You will need the tranny, bellhousing, and driveline yoke.

If the 1974 is a column shift, you will need a 'hump' and make sure the 4 speed has the floor shifter and shift rods.
