Hey there,
650 MBs is huge... even with a broadband connection.
Did you scale down the photos before inserting them into your documents?
If you have a large sized photo, then simply drag it down to a smaller size, the file size will remain the same, which is generally too large for distribution via the internet.
This sounds like an excellent project though... downsize it, then post it onto a website somewhere where it can be downloaded.

Wow, that's a public-spirited project! Photographs are really not the right way to do it, though; in order to wind up with a legible, usable PDF of reasonable file size, you'd need to scan (and preferably OCR) each page. This is time-consuming to do yourself or expensive to have done, for most of us. Just for reference, I have some PDFs of various-year Chrysler parts catalogues. They tend to run 50 to 200 mb apiece, depending on year and other factors (some years are much thicker than others, and all of them are much thicker than the '60 Valiant parts catalogue.)_________________ 一期一会

I tried to do the scan thing, for some reason though, random scans were showing up half-paged, tilted diagonally, etc.
A few times and I had enough of that!
I did all the preference stuff..but no dice so I went the tripod and camera route.
... I scaled everything down to 117 MB's ending up with 16 sheets per page.
So if things work out, after downloading people will have to scale them back up to 6400%, I checked and the pages are still good quality.
As I write the files are being uploaded from another computer to filehosting.org.

Ok it works I just DL'd it.
I scaled down to 3500% and each page fit in the window perfectly.
Any suggestions where to post this?_________________ |
