Fopar came up this morning. We were going to modify the valve body. Started looking through the diagnostic information that came with one of his kits, and decided to try backing off the TV. (Getting delayed shifts from 1st to 2nd.)
Backed the Lokar off a smidge, and it got better. Backed it off a smidge more, and the shifts are much better! Still occuring at the right engine speed, just much quicker.
Too much TV, and the line pressure goes too high, not allowing the transition. Seems much happier now, and partial throttle shifts are at more reasonable engine speeds. It's almost got street manners now.

We were down on the island yesterday, stores are stocked full with tourist trinkets, streets are clean, and few sunny days are predicted beginning of week…_________________ 67' Dart GT Convertible; the old Chrysler Corp.

I took the Valiant on to the Arlington, Texas stop of the Hot Rod Power Tour 2012. That meant about 750 miles over the weekend, averaging 20 MPG, including some time spent on the parking lot they call I-30. No problems with the car at all - she just started and ran like she always does.
The Valiant pretty much fit in - she wasn't the oldest, slowest, or rattiest car by any measure:
There were some nice cars there, including a '64 Valiant-badged Barracuda (273), that oddball shorty Imperial roadster someone made a while back, and an open road racing AMC Concord I recognized from the Big Bend Open Road Race.
I brought home a bunch of catalogs._________________ "When you find a big kettle of crazy, it's best not to stir it." - Pointy-haired Boss

Changed the oil after the engine break in, ordered new Electric motor for water pump... Drove it around a little in the apt complex...
The kids got a kick out of it... No leaks anywhere.. I think we are good to go.... Anticipating Woodburn and Samoa..

Local uniform shop has expressed interest in have the car displayed in front of the store due to it having a lightbar on it... May load it up Thursday and take it to a remote location and test the car out a little... _________________ BIG T

Make the above day for a possible test run, FRIDAY... New Electric Water Pump motor won't be here until Thursday evening.
Probably shouldn't try to run it without that..Hahahaha ...not after as long as it has been.
Feels funny, after all this time, it is running again... BUT IT FEELS GREAT!
I have said it before, and I'll say it again... Andrew "KIDD" Howard has been a huge help, as well as others from the Killer Bees...

Dropped off head at machine shop, yesterday, for milling. Picked it up this morning, .0110 lighter.
Cam is now degreed in at 103. It is a Racer Brown St-21, which is the same as the "BIG" Mopar performance cam.

Bled, and bled, and bled the brakes. Swapped in an 8 3/4 last week, and I'm still fighting air in the lines..._________________ |

Moved some stuff around in the shop, got a good sun burn with a buddy
welding some improvements to my tow dolly. Cleaned out the blue duster so I can race next weekend.
Time to go out and have dinner for our anniversary, 8 years and we haven't killed each other...that's a good sign...

Congratulations Rob!
Fired up the Alfa and got it out of the driveway. Worked on a Nissan Xterra this morning. Finished off with that. Took a ride in the Hooptie. Pulled it into the shop and did oil and filter. Running great.
Linda and I went for a nice 50 mile ride in the Alfa to have lunch five miles away. It's that kind of car.
Got back, moved the Hooptie out and put the Alfa away. Got into the Hooptie to move it back to it's parking spot, and the tones went off.
Solo in the main station squad to serve as rehab officer for a structure fire. (FF condition and water boy.) Pretty light as this was non-entry. Structure was an abandoned goner. Finally back in quarters a bit after 6. The squad is a new Dodge 1 ton quad cab hemi 4x4 Dually with a purpose built utility box. 10.7 MPG average. In it's defense, it is pretty heavy, and gets driven pretty hard most of the time. I sashayed to the scene code 1. The AC works, and the stereo is nice. It's got one of the new low profile LED light bars. Bright little turkey! Got the squad washed and put away, then headed for home. Parked the Valiant and Linda fed me dinner!
A pretty nice day.
Didn't get squat done to the shop, and still need to check the rear axle and trans fluid. Hopefully Fopar will come up Thursday evening so we can get everything out of the trailer to load the Hooptie for Woodburn.
