This is what happens when you forget to put your hood pins in... Hood came up at about 85 mph I let up alittle and then got back in it and went thru the traps with an 11.92 @ 102mph with the hood up!!!

Some guys aren't just happy to set new records they have to do something extra while setting records! Maybe this should be a new class? We could just add "HU" to the end of the class meaning "Hood Up"

That's why you wear goggles with your helmet- so you can roll the driver's window down and stick your head out to see where you are going. |

So that's why you have the screen in the hood. So you can see where you're going.

Y'know Mark, It's not really necessary to have your car salute the vets in the stands during a pass.
I did that once with a '50 Chev SD, brand new (to me) freshly primered, cherry set of fenders and hood to boot. The hood ends tore holes in both fenders, the rear edge busted both halves of my windshield and pushed both wiper pivits into the cowl. Folded the hood backwards as well of course.
Sure hope yours did less secondary damage._________________ Dick, 225% crazy

"I can break the record blindfolded!!!...Or at least with the windsheild covered and a big wind dam on the front of the car!!!!"
Hopefully there isn't any damage...I had a chance 10 years ago to buy a 1975 Gold Duster cheap because that happened on the highway to the owner...screwed up the hinges and springs...and put a nice crease in the factory iron hood...he said he was only doing 75 at the time...
Look forward to seeing a better time and record breaking run on the next one.
Good Luck,

Mark,
Gee, up here on the coast of Maine we generally only use the spinnaker when heading down wind… LOL

| I had that happen on a '74 Falcon at 115 MPH one night, came up so hard it belted the roof down. Scared the young female passenger a little too...
