Good racing to everyone. Wish money grew on trees and the whole Covalt clan could come down. Maybe next year!

I am in Asheville tonight checking on my Sixy Beast progress. Plan to be at the track tomorrow morning when the gates open up! I'll be there in the pits with a white D100 sporting a big black deercatcher on the front. Truck ran great on the road today with a fresh carb rebuild. Hope we get pleasantly surprised with a decent car count this weekend.
Brian

Brian, I hope the car is coming along well. Maybe we can have 2 "new" cars at Mason Dixon IV!!

Yup. Inquiring minds want to know!
Brian and Lou both have long drives home, so it will probably be tomorrow before we get the report.
I was out on a canoe/camping trip, so I didn't call and bug people for the results.

brief update - Hargis wins both days...

9 cars Saturday for a 40 pt race. 7 cars Sunday (I broke, sorta, and Hamby had to be home Sunday) for a 40 pt race - given by last year's 40 pointer. HOT weather - 95 and humid Sat, 92 or so Sun.
One new racer, Jack Everhardt, brought his nice yellow '74 ('73-76?) Duster and ran about 40 passes all weekend!! First time on a dragstrip and he had fun and won a round on Sunday. Son Jack III was with him and they make a great team!
Short story: Rodney Hargis won BOTH races, which puts him at 82 pts and in contention for the Championship... We'll see him at Clay City. Says he hasn't won a race since Clay City 2008, so he's back in force.
I believe Gary went out 1st round both days (redlights). I chose not to take points on Sat, won 2 rounds, then broke Sat eve on the street and couldn't race Sunday - OOPS. Meril had 3-4 round wins and was in the finals on Sat. Larry Chesney won 3-4 rounds and was in the finals Sunday. Hamby won 1-2 rounds Sat? Flyin' Brian won 2-3 rounds all weekend in his '86 truck?
Mark Charapich came with Sara's '63 Valiant and raced both days - won a round Saturday?
I got eager with my tuneup Saturday eve after 10 passes during the day (more timing, less fuel - felt GREAT), AND blew my head gasket between #4 and 5 cylinders. More on that elsewhere... Made it 130 mi home no problem after disconnecting those 2 injectors and tightening the valves a little to bleed off pressure.
Brian will post the ladder and such once he gets home. He graciously followed me back to my place and stayed over before heading home this morning.
Great times!
Lou

Just got around to checking in...
It's been awhile since I have posted any pics and I seem to be experiencing "lack of intelligence" issues.
I will try again tomorrow morning after my fried brain cools off.
Lou has pretty much summed the weekend up already, but I know inquiring minds want the details!

You need to make it an open type, it needs permission to see.
