Well i sold my AP6 sedan a while ago and bought this 1963 Chrysler Valiant AP5 wagon.
This is basically how it came, the previous owner had done it up as a rat.
He had completely rebuilt the engine,Torqueflite, front end and had the upholstery done, even came with all the receipts for what had been done.
The only things i had to do for a roadworthy certificate were replace one wheel cylinder(the car had been sitting for a while),a little bit of rust on the bottom of the front left guard,i also replaced all brake shoes for my own piece of mind.
The other things i have changed since purchase are, install HEI and a 2 barrel intake and Carter BBD hightop carb.
Here's the pics.

Fair dinkum!

Those fishtail exhaust tips are kinda cool, what and where are they from?

Description of carburetor as "high top" makes hair stand up on the back of my neck; hope it's not one of the Chinese counterfeit BBDs all over the internet being sold as "lowtop" and "hightop" varieties—when I disassembled and inspected one of those, brand new, it had enough major flaws to make me afraid to put fuel in it.

Interesting throttle and transmission kickdown cable setups; can you tell us more about them? Looks like maybe stock (for OZ) slant-6 2bbl throttle cable bracket and maybe a Lokar kickdown cable?

They were on the car when i bought it,they are 2 into one,i would say they may be off a motorcycle or something, maybe a rod shop might have something.

No,it is a Carter BBD HIGHTOP off our hemi engines.if i see them at swapmeets or Aus ebay i snap them up if they are cheap enough,i've put a kit through it from Daytona Parts.

Yeah,it is a stock slant 6 2 barrel throttle cable bracket.
I welded a lug underneath to take the LOKAR kickdown cable, but then had to bolt on the bit you can see coming out horizontally to get the cable out in line with the arm on the carb.
The throttle cable is a 1 barrel one(i had a spare one)cut down to 2 barrel length with a LOKAR cable end on it.
This way i can get all the slop out of the pedal and have adjustment at the carb end.

Another thing i installed was a AP6 accelerator pedal to take the cable and replace the AP5 rod and linkage set-up which rotated the wrong way for a 2 barrel.
I also made the air cleaner out of a 2 barrel base of the high top carb cut down(as the slant 6 2 barrel base doesn't fit the high top carb)with a 1 barrel lid cut down.

Hi Greg, congratulations on a new car! I already told you I love station wagons, and yours look very nice, but I am not so sure about the letters on that number plate...

Olaf.

Cool looking car! I saw those exact exhaust pipes on a Harley motorcycle just a few days ago.

Funny,a lot of people say that.

They came with the wagon so i guess they will stay until and if i want to spend the moolah to get new plates. Laughing

With the black paint, scull on the hood, and the RIP plate, it should be easy to sell to the local mortician, should you ever grow tired of it! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Just kiddin', it's a very nice wagon you've got there!

Olaf.

I have been mucking around in Corel Draw to see what the old girl would look like with different coloured wheels and scallops.
