Hello,

I am considering getting an electric Fuel pump now for Ruster.

I am having issues on load with the mechanical pump and the vacuum pump pulling crankcase vacuum.

this is for a carbuerated Setup and I think 7-9 PSI is all that's needed.

What do you recommend?
Do I need to get a separate fuel pressure regulator also?

I ran a simple Summit racing pump on my bogger..(750cfm) with no regulator (Rochester carb) and had excellent results.....

...however...it was dead in the box when I got it because of machining bits in the case. I took it apart and cleaned it out...ran for years.

It replaced a Carter I had for 35 years....cheap simple.

I've been using this Mr. Gasket model in my Toad, my HAMBster, and 4 of'em in our Rose Parade float, for over eight years now.
All also use a Holley regulator, to about 3 psi, perhaps not needed for your application.

Early on I had trouble with a couple of'em getting gummed up, 'til I switched to Chevron exclusively on all of'em.
No problems since.
Yes, Kiddies, the Chevron comment/fix is patently subjective.
Still, I'd not mention it if I thought it irrelevant, so take it for what it's worth to you.

I'm running a Bosch 044 and i am happy with it other than the fact it is loud. I was running an Aeromotive fuel pump and it had a serious cavitation issue.

I am running about 50 psi and have throttle body fuel injection.

Holly blue for gas and black for alky always worked good for me without a problem. In my experience I found its better to spend a few bucks extra and get a good regulator the first time. You want it to be dependable and hold consistent fuel pressure.

Holley Red pump is an internal bypass that works with carbs. For extra protection I installed a secondary regulator. Been on there for several years with zero problems.

It sounds like you have a weed-eater in the trunk through the firewall. (Unless you have upholstery, then you might not notice it.)

On the bright side, when it goes silent, your out of gas!

I run an in tank aeromotive stealth 340lph with 3/8" feed to a aeromotive rising rate fuel pressure regulator to a 1/2" return, all going to a Holley 650dp mod'd for blow through, haven't ran out of pump yet lol

Holley red pump has been and still is on the red Dart for better than 10 years. Regulator set at 4.5# as Carter/Edelbrock is not fond of pressure above 6#.On the street 64 Dart I run a Jegs/Holley as a backup for the stock pump.It is used mostly for HOT starts/vapor lock for our 100 + degrees summer weather.I also ran Carter Street pump on my Big Block cars as a pusher from tank to stock mechanical pump.
