Did Nick finish off the welding on the chassis Richard?

I could have used the plasma cutter and TIG Sunday. Travis and I are building a weedeater powered scooter for one of the FF's to run around on. Made a crankshaft extension with a sprocket. Turned the shaft down in my lathe to fit the sprocket, turned it down a little further and tapered the centering shaft to get it centered in the crank shaft. Welded it all up with the MIG.
The engine is mounted up, chain drive in place and all that. The guy that wanted us to build it thought he'd be able to push start it. The rear wheel free-wheels when pushed forward. Laughing
Now we have to come up with a starting mechanism. I'm thinking a Wrap around starter rope pulley on the end of the shaft, or a model airplane electric starter. We'll see.

Just got a call from Gary. The last Jet car comes off the jig in a couple weeks, and he can start in on my chassis. Very Happy

Yeah, he had two full builds for a jet team. They crashed both cars last year. There was nothing left to rebuild, so Gary got the commission to build two new ones. The second one plugged up his jig for three months awaiting parts and such. They changed some things mid-build, so that added more time.
I am up next. Very Happy

You decided that old frame needed to much going over? Would be fun to stick my engine into a rail like that!

Andrew, The frame isn't even close to legal (way to many unrenforced butt welds) so I cut it into three pieces and it will go to scrap.
