Ignition breaks down at 3400 RPM under boost. I guess if Lou wants to ride along and try to diagnose the problem I would run down the strip. If I shift at 3K it would make it down the strip, but might turn a time of maybe 20 seconds.
It is probably best to assume I will just watch. It probably says somewhere in this thread, but what time do things start up this year?

I will of course be there both days. Sam, I may be able to come to your place first and help with tuning. Hope to get MSD mailed today.
Matt Pyrak cannot make it. Brother graduating from college or some such excuse. I hope to get him to Radford dragstrip this Friday for some t'n't, though...
Lou

Saturday 19th.
Mid-Atlantic MOPAR MEET
Test & Tune and Gamblers RACE
Vendors
MOPARS Vs The WORLD
Gates Open 8 AM
Test & Tune 12-5 PM
MOPARS vs ALL 4 PM
Sunday 20th
Gates Open 8 AM
Show 9 AM-3 PM
Racing 12 Noon till
Awards 3:00 PM
Vendors ALL DAY
The above is from the Mason Dixon Web site. So if anyone wants to run T&T prior to our Saturday race it will be available. T&T is $30 and the Slant 6 race is $35 each Day. We will try and do at least $10 payback each day to 1st Rd losers. So both days of racing will cost you $50
Please note when you come into the track to tell them you are racing Slant 6, and if you want to run T&T you need to tell them that also. Just in case they only charge you $30 for the Slant 6 race, please remind them that we pay $35 to race. That is how we get our $20 payback for each car. This probably won't happen, and I will remind them when I arrive.
Anyone who is new. When you arrive, come on over into the pits and look for the big trees and we will try and park between them and the track. This is where we have parked the last 3 years.
I will probably try and get to the track around 10am on Saturday. Our races should start around 4:00PM. Sunday I will probably get there earlier. Maybe 8:30 or 9:00. Races start Sunday at noon. You should try and get there early. We can try and save some parking, but some years this event is packed on Sunday. So if you can't park right with us, come look us up and let us know you are there.
After the first time trial for Slant 6 we will do a random drawing and set the ladder.
Sunday my wifie and I will provide all the food and drinks for everyone to eat. Of course the track has food as well.
look forward to seeing everyone!

Thanks again, Rick! You are a wonderful host and we are all looking forward to it.
I'm going to t'n't tonight at Radford, VA dragstrip (motormiledragway.com) if anyone wants to join! I'll have my 68 turbo Dart there and most likely a friend will run my new "V2" Valiant. Hopefully I can figure out how to cut a light with my '68.
Lou

I have rearranged my work schedule so I can be there early. Since it opens at 9 AM it may be just a bit after that to take in the flea market and show. I will not race though. You can pretty much count on that . I am just there to cheer you guys on and be blown away by the slants that shock the rest of the crowd with their quickness, and by the ones that shock the crowd with their durability as an icon of days gone by, even when they are not so fast.

The 68 turbo Dart and the V2 64 Valiant saw some t'n't on Fri night in Radford. Nice results: 9.62 @ 95.9 MPH in the Dart on only 6.5 psi boost, and 10.63 @ 66.4 in the as yet untuned V2. I was particularly happy at how fast the Dart went with low boost. That was as fast as it went with 9 psi with the old 2.5" exhaust and converter.
Planning to drive the '68 up there and run 6.5 psi for bracket racing, then unplug a hole on the wastegate and run 12 psi to set a record.
See y'all soon!
Lou

Great Lou, Looks like you can enter The Slant Race on Sat as well as TNT for an extra fee and make as many runs as you want.
Weather looks good for being a week away.
I still have to hit a TNT here (pittsburgh) on thursday to see if I can get some transmission gremlins worked out on Ruster.
