Post subject: pricing for a street race build (Wed Jan 11, 2012 7:12 pm) Reply with quote

seems that a slant is just about the same $$ as a V8
headers
frame ties
headwork
block
induction systems
tires
wheels
trans
torque converter
shifter
tach

the engine may be a tad more as a V8 has more to build

is there something Im missing ?
any thoughts

Realistically, a Slant car costs about the same to build because the chassis and drivetrain will be the same for both, a trans will cost the same, and due to the higher cost of Slant headers and intakes, motors cost about the same.

The big downside is that you will get less horsepower out of the same money with a Slant.

with a slant i think its more about being able to do what others cant or what other wont do...

but a big thing i think you and most of us forget is stopping...

a set of bolt on wilwoods is just under 700 shipped...

Again, that falls under the chassis/drivetrain category, and all that stuff costs the same no matter what engine you put in. Sad
