It seems I have found a source of Billet Roller Cam Blanks.

I will make a phone call tomorrow. If the source is real, I'll post here.

Sure hope it works out! Very Happy

CJ

Ceej,

All that fun at work is getting to ya!!!! Shocked

Souce would be good, getting the price down to something liveable would be better...Heck, I'd be happy if they knocked some $$$ of the price and used ductile iron for the blank instead of some high-falutin' top notch billet steel....

Oh wait, did I just say that?!?!?!?!? Twisted Evil

Laughing

Good luck on the call... Wink

Are we talking with pump/dist drive gears or not? I'm listening.

With hobbed gear in this case. Looks like he's got the capability, but hasn't cut this cam before. I will send a core to him and find out what this entails.
Joe at Roto-Faze makes the blanks. Crane does the rest.
This isn't going to be cheap. The grinding, plating, finish grinding and roller lifters come out in the $1000 range. That price doesn't include the blank.

So Ed, what is your source?

CJ

OK. Looks like it'll hit about the same as Crane. The roller lifters come out around 500 bucks.

With roller lifters, all the heat treating and stuff, minus the blank itself, it's a tad under a grand. We'll see how the blank comes out.

I got a core from Fopar to send to the blank supplier. Depending on where they come out, we might have something. Roto-Faze hasn't worked up the blank yet. We'll see what they have in mind.

Looks like there might be a source for Billet Cranks as well. I'll research that too.

CJ
