What schematic did you use?

Volt meter should connect between voltage plus and ground.

Go back and double-check your wiring setup to make sure it looks like this, and make sure you didn't accidentally create an open circuit in the charging line when you took away the ammeter._________________ 一期一会

Host the pic somewhere, like photobucket. Make sure it's small enough to meet guidelines, or Guido will get you. Look in how to use this forum about that.
Put the link to the pic in your signature.
That easy!
