Post subject: Reverse Slipping (Mon Feb 27, 2012 8:41 am) Reply with quote

I have been looking around the forum for this and have not found it but if it is answered in an older post please let me know.

I have a 1980 d100 with the 3+overdrive manual tranny. While in reverse if it is put under load or higher rpm you can hear a gear slip, allot. While reversing slowly on level ground or slight incline it works fine. Doe snot happen in any other gear. I am considering rebuilding but have no resource for transmission parts. I might be getting my hands on a used 3 speed but not sure if it would be geared right for a truck and I would miss the overdrive. Any info or suggestions would be appreciated.
