I think they are going to touch each other in a slant head. Laughing

What overbore have you got?

Your going to need a minimum .060 over, and they are going to mask on the bore pretty heavily. I have 1.540" Exhausts that have been face and back cut to keep them off the cylinder walls.

If your running 0.100" Overbore, it may not be an issue, but make certain to correct the dowls if the chambers don't precisely center over the bore. I bent three exhaust valves when they wacked the cylinder wall.

My gut reaction is; Too Big.

i am using 360cid valves cut to 1.80int/160ex with a notched .060 over bore. i am thinking of doing a new head and have read here of some members using 300cid ford valves. the head i have has rusted through #6ex port and ex valves are pitted bad from sitting to long as backup motor. the engine it going on is my .080 over blown engine. just wondering if these are the valves most use i know i will have to do everything for 11/32 stems.thanks terry

Most racers I know have found that 1.76/1.50 is about as big as you want to go on a 0.100" or less overbore motor. Valve shrouding takes away any gains with bigger diameters. I have seen a 1.84/1.44 head where the int valve was moved toward the middle about 0.040-0.060". That worked well.

I have a 1.84/1.54 head I bought off a racer 15 yrs ago and it has never been run. About 0.025-0.030" between the valves, so at the limit. I keep looking for a combo it would work with...

When I did a big valve head around 1999 I used Ford 300 valves and had the exhausts cut down to 1.45". That head was used on a 3.43" bore engine.

I didn't measure the machine shop did the work. From what I recall the Ford valves are 0.010" longer than the slant valves.
