Lotto "nutzo" here in California right now... a record setting jack-pot ($640 million at last count)
Fun to think about winning but you have better odds on getting hit by lighting... 3 times in a row.

I am sure Possum has already shared some numbers with Mater. But it may be gear oil numbers!

Saving my dollar. I need car parts more than a mansion and a bunch of bunnies soaking up rays by the pool. I know what to do with car parts. Laughing

I bought some tickets Wednesday and also got in the pool at work.

If I hit it I'm going to open a liquor store, strip club, and whorehouse all in the same building. Laughing

I bought a ticket, first time in 20 years.

The odds are incredibly high, but somebody will win it.

Back in the 70's, the federal government engineered the RICO act. making numbers games illegal.
We now have states playing numbers games in order to bilk large amounts of money from the public.
That makes one wonder........just who is the criminal in the above statements?

(Yes, I, too bought into the numbers game.) Embarassed

Two observations:

If you spend the one or two bucks on a ticket you get a 1 in 175 million chance of winning. There is nothing to calculate, the odds are printed on the back of the ticket in really, really small print…

Occurrences that have better odds that can happen to one are; getting twice hit by lightning, and death by having a vending machine fall on you. One thing can be said with certainty; don’t purchase a ticket, and the odds of winning even a dime become less than one in infinity.

The other is; some treat these lotteries as a “Red Neck Retirement Program”, with a better than 3% match; that is if you hit pay dirt. LOL

Lottery (ˈlɒt•ər•ɪ) n: A voluntary tax on the underground economy.

I hope if one of you actually win, that you would hire Howard Davis, buy him a couple new machines and have him start cranking out new aluminum cylinder heads , and stud girdles. And while you are at it you might as well crank out some big bore siamese blocks to go with them!! Laughing Laughing

The lottery is a lot of fun to play and I doint spend 20 dollars a year on them only when they get high. James Gregory the comedian said he talked to a redneck and he said I doint play the lottery unless it is 100 million or more James said like he could not use 10 million. I have been called a redneck but most people do not know where that term comes from. I will say I retired at 51 years old and live confortable doint owe no one. I might even sponser a Slant team this year stay tuned. Thanks Ron

the odds at winning are better when you buy a ticket compared to your odds when you don't buy a ticket. The way i look at odds for this is if someone stretched a tape measure from Washington DC to New York city, you have to pick the correct inch that will be picked.
