Roller Rockers

Just thought I'd let you all know that T&D still make roller rockers even though they dont list them. Price unknown
Just thought I'd mention it as I've read some bad stuff about the RAS ones and I've been making some enquiries for a set.
Cheers
John

Nope. Nevada. I think they are in Tristan's backyard.

I can be there in twenty five minutes. Not in my back yard but just a valley away! Nevada is preaty big! The KB silvolite plant is out there and earson cams used to be located near both of them.

| T&D makes good stuff, even though its pricey, you do get what you pay for.

| Cool! I'll have to make note of this. Would the 1.6 be good for an Erson 280/270 cam? |

Buy the right camshaft to start with and you won't need $700 of rockers.

So...I didn't buy the right cam or I don't need new rockers?
Your sarcasm is hard to decipher. |

I was not being sarcastic.
When building an engine you buy a cam that fits what you want to do. You do not just buy any cam and then add bandaids to make it work.
I can pretty much guarantee that after paying $700 or so for a set of 1.6 rockers you will not see much if any difference in your performance.
Trust me, I spent $425 on a set of RAS 1.6 rockers and have switched them at the track and seen no difference.

I think the question is,, why do you think you need roller 1:6 rockers?
some things to consider
1)if you want more lift,, just spec a cam with more lift and use the stock 1:5 lifters
2) if you think you need rollers, consider that the stock shaft mounted slant six rocker is well designed and is actually very stable,, the GM crowd with the bucket and ball rockers, do go to rollers because their stock rocker is not stable.
the thought is ,, unless you are building a very high end motor, you may be able to get a bigger bang for your buck by not going with rollers.

I'm only going to 1.6 rollers as I'm building a 4/71 supercharged slant six with long rod conversion, fully prepped race head and a custom Aussie Camtech cam. Even then it maybe overkill but I've got the bucks so why not

Fair enough. In my defense, I bought the cam I have after careful consideration of my goals and discussing them with several experienced Slant 6 builders. I've heard about roller rockers before, and just learned that they're readily available again. With all the buzz I'd heard in the past, I was curious and wanted to know if they'd be good for the cam. I'm not looking for band aids so much as advice on complimentary parts. I'm sorry if I took your comment differently than you intended. Im trying to do things right the first time and sometimes I ask stupid noob questions just to make sure I'm not missing out on something important. |
