Still will be the Quail Duster. We will use the Duster at least til we finish the FED. And as a back up after that. There will also be tracks that we wont run the FED. Engine going in Dart WAS the new race engine just detuned alot. When I get the supercharger perfected and know its limits we will put a supercharger engine in the Dart and move the race engine over to the Duster.
Hope that was clear.
14.84 was the best time I think. Lexan, bumpers and fiberglass front end may all be in the works?????
Also have NEW hood and paint/body work to do yet.
Frank

Hey Frank,

You have about as many simultaneous projects as I do. We're gluttons for punishment. Laughing

Are you planning on attending the Clay City race? If all goes well (I get stationed in Kentucky and you have other race cars going by then) maybe we could arrange for you to bring the engine/tranny to Clay City.

14.84 is a good solid 14! And that's without slicks, sure-grip and any more lightening. I'm happy with that. It should put the Turismo into the low 14s or maybe even high 13s with the right tweaks! Very Happy

Nothing new to post. Just had the chance to get in to the site and wanted to feel like I was doing something.

Hey Frank, don't blow up that engine this weekend at Knoxville! I'll need it back pretty soon. Laughing

I'll see what I can do to make it down there. Let me know once you've got it pulled out. Have you put the intake/headers back on it yet?

We may have to strap the engine/trans to the dolly so I can get it back up here since I haven't picked up the truck yet.

With all of the other expenses popping up lately I don't think I'll be able to swing the trailer right now.

Now that I'm finally figuring out how to post photos... Rolling Eyes Laughing

Here's one of GodsRods Duster I at the Georgia Race in May 2006 where we got it down to the tire spinning 15.85.

Hey Frank,

I get dibs on it if you and Cinda ever want to get rid of it. Wink

You and me both! Laughing

"Lord willin' and if the creek don't rise..."

(I'm fittin' right in 'round these parts! Wink )

Serously though, I will be doing some sort of racing this year. If all else fails I'll just race whatever I have locally. I did a couple donuts in the parking lot at work this morning in the Tahoe Shocked I may prefer the desert, but I can enjoy the snow as well. Very Happy

Made the trip down to Arkansas to pull the engine/tranny. 850 miles / 14 hours round trip plus the day of wrenching time.

As soon as I saw the Duster I started feeling all nostalgic. Rolling Eyes

I started thinking about times working with the youth group kids:

Jimmy installing the gauges with a T-shirt wrapped around his head to keep the sweat out of his eyes (it was in Hotlanta)

Amanda learning to use a torque wrench by torqueing the head bolts and not caring that her long blonde hair had oil in it

Jaime sanding and painting various spots all over the car from her wheelchair

Charrlie walking me through the wiring issues over the cell phone and me calling him back so he could hear it running

Too many AJ & Kendall memories to choose just one Laughing

*****************************

So closes another Chapter in the saga of the GodsRods Dusters... Sad

*****************************

New memories from this weekend:

Initiating Frank's nice new shop floor with spilled coolant, trans fluid and oil. Shocked Embarassed (Sorry again for the mess Frank)

So, now the fun begins to tear the engine apart to get it ready to live on in another car... (Hint: it's gonna be on the street this time Wink )
