Okay I know its ONLY November, but time to start talking about when and where on the banquet.

I THINK someone had mentioned looking for a different hotel for this year, I'm not sure who.

Also need to start looking at dates so everyone can be scheduling days off.

EDIT FROM LOU: SEE LAST POST IN THIS THREAD FOR BANQUET DETAILS.

Normally, isn't it the second or third weekend in February which would be the Friday the 12th thru Sunday the 14th or Friday the 19th thru Sunday the 21st. either weekend would be fine with me. Or I am just throwing some dates out their.

I am not sure If I am able to come this year, But I would Like somewhere a Bit further Geographically Central for the Folks that come. It's at Least an 8 hour trip for me and when its snowy in the mountains of Wva that can be a tricky trip.

January or March can also work for me personally.

I know if it's too late then it can be difficult to plan the Year's calendar.

There is supposed to be an inliners international 2016 Convention in Dayton Ohio.
No Firm Details yet or anything, but it's something to consider.

I have tried to register on their forum, for over 2 weeks now, and have not been approved to login or post.

I think it might be cool to piggy back a slant race with this event - there was also talk of inliners running the ohio mile as well?

Gary Bruner wanted me to pass along that he stopped by Valley Forge Inn last week and checked rates for February. Regular room around $52.00 per night and Banquet room around $140.00 per night.

Lets open it up to a roll call to see what dates will or will not work for us.

If we go for 2nd. or 3rd. week of Feb. as we have used recently either will work for us.

Thanks Ron

It might be good to stay away from Valentine's Day whenever that is. Or maybe not.

Ask your wife she may be able to help you.

Some men do things with their wives over Valentines day/ weekend. I know it came up in the past.

I will not know if I am coming until that week. So I am fine with whatever the majority wants. But I would personally lean towards the 3rd weekend.

Rick

I need to schedule surgery around the end of Jan to the beginning of Feb. So I want to be able to make the banquet. As of right now I should be good for any weekend in Feb.

I second that,

and the later into Feb, typically the better the weather is,,
I think the first weekend in March would be grand...
This winter has been so warm, March would be spring in Pigeon Forge for us Northern folks :)

So we are looking at the weekend of Feb 27 or March 5? I've not heard anyone throw out any other specific locations. Do y'all want me to call and see if we can get the large room at Valley Forge either of those weekends?

Thanks for getting this going, everyone. I can do Feb 20 or 27, but not March 5.

I would say for this year it is too late to plan an alternate location (than Pigeon Forge, TN and the Valley Forge Inn) unless someone wants to step up and plan the whole shebang ASAP. We should discuss for next year...

Hope all the Slanted world is having happy holidays!

Lou
