Please direct all discussion about the race to this thread. This will keep the sticky thread from getting cluttered.

I mailed out the flyers yesterday. If you think that maybe you are not on my list drop me an email and I will double check.

I could also scan it in and email you one.

Tom

You have got it Mr. Norm. This past Saturday found a hole rubbed in my oil pan. The passenger side engine bracket that conects to the motor mount came loose and the engine moved about 3/4 of an inch to the left and hit the k member. So its up to Garys Saturday and all of that has to be fixed, But i am glad it showed up now rather than we were off racing. I am going to loctite everything that i can put a wrench on Thanks Ron Parker

Did it come loose or did it vibrate loose?

Bob it appears the two bolts that hold the engine bracket that bolt to the block hace backed out about 3/4 of a inch letting the engine tilt two the drivers side and get against the k-member. I am sure it was viberation. The car now has aluninum floor pans and trunk pan and has the frame rails tied together and welded together and a 8 point roll cage in it. After we put this in the car has started spinning the tires in the 60 ft about 40 ft out and at the second gear shift. Also it is tied together at three places across the back frame rails. Besides bigger tires do you have any suggestions i would appericate them either about the tire spin or viberation Thanks Ron Parker

Ron, what have you got on that thing for rear springs and shocks? Sounds like the rear suspension is binding up.

Ron, are you running a pinion snubber?
How much rearward angle is on the rear spring shackels? (there should be a lot)

If you slowly increase rpms while in park can you feel a vibration in the motor?

Norm and Ron,
I still do not have a confirmation on your questions from a source I trust. I have put in calls to the track and have the email address of the track director. As soon as I have a response from him I will post it in the sticky thread.
We plan to take the Simca up between noe and the show and I will be able to find out more info then. Stay tuned!

Tom

OK guys here is the response I received. Norm I will try and scout out a parking lot close to the track and get you directions.

They have a race on Friday night and none of the racers are allowed to camp over night. We have had problems with campers in the way of setting up for the show on Sat. There will be scales available at the track. At the present in-ground scales are being installed. If they are not finished by Show time a set of NHRA scales will be on site for use. I hope this helps you.

Moparly, Ron

I am trying to find a set of digital scales that I can borrow from a local round track racer to bring with me. I will let you know once I aquire a set.
