I have been in contact with the Current owner (Pat) of Wilkesboro Dragway and am trying to get a date lined up. She said she was pretty flexible on dates and would try and make anything work for us. She said she would pencil us in on that 6/18 & 19 and wait to hear back from me. She did ask me if we could make a decision by this weekend and let her know.

Sorry this is short notice, but if anyone is opposed to this date please post it here ASAP. We want a good turn out and don't want to schedule a race that doesn't suit the most people that we can.

She said they are not yet running on Friday night but she will run that Friday night for us and will advertise a test & Tune and a gamblers race for the same night. We will only need to pay for the entry to the track which is $10. Then we can do whatever we like for the purse.

If the date is Ok with everyone I will let her know Saturday night.

Date has been locked in with the track. Just waiting to hear back from Kay that those days work for her.

I Do not know how this is going to work since Tim harrold is no longer connected with the dealership. There may not be the normal sponsor money that he so graciously provided for many years. So I am going forward with the opinion that it is not going to be there.

I would really like for this to be a great day of racing, and remembering our friend Ron Hamby. I would like us to have a nice big payout for at least one of the days. Say $500 or more to win. If anyone wants to kick any extra into the purse just let me know.

I would say we will have $10 at the gate and then charge each racer $20-25 to race. All that money will go to the payout. I have the new windage tray and bolt kit that Slantzilla paid for and donated for a prize. I will keep that until Wilkesboro and give that away as a prize.

I will start off the "big purse" fund with a $100. Anyone else want to kick in a few bucks it will be greatly appreciated.

Too All! A special thanks to Brian Mimken who has agreed to take care of the coordinator duties for the Hamby Memorial race at Wilkesboro. There will be more details to follow for sure.

As of today we have a total of more than $1000 pledged to the race purse!! Thanks to each one who has given to the purse. Still plenty of time for others to get in on this as well.

I spoke to Dale Hamby this week and he was excited that we were having a race in honor of his dad and he is going to try and come out and be there. He may even bring one of his dad's cars.

Wilkesboro is just around the corner so can we star a roll call? Please try and make this event if you can. Ron and Kay were probably the best ambassadors for our Slant 6 series besides Seymour himself. I'd really like to see a good turn out as a show of how much we really appreciated them!
