I Just Put A remflex Gasket on My 79 Volare It's very Nice And I have no Problems Only had to torque to 5 ft/Lbs..

The Gasket set includes the intake / Exhaust manifold combination and the HotBox carb Heat gasket... I cant comment on the Hotbox Gasket as I did not use it yet.

I have used the RemFlex hot box gasket and the header pipe gasket. They are awesome! You couldn't ask for a better gasket. :D

I have not had bad luck with the Fel-Pro gaskets. Im not sure why everyone does not like them. They were waayy cheaper than the Remflex. Of course, the Remflex is probably waayy better.

we are a remflex dealer so i am a bit biased, but i was going thru flange gaskets like candy, tryed the stock felpro, the next step up the NEA flange gasket with metal ring. finally i have a remflex and no more leaky exhaust problems. the gasket crushed real nice and it does not leak! we also have remflex samples that we keep around and i have made gaskets from the sample blank stock that work great!

it's more money but it sure solved my problems

Midi-

have you checked the mating surfaces on the exhaust manifold and the pipe? I have had the same problem (burning through "doughnuts") and it is usually caused by (a) a rough sealing surface or (b) torquing one of the bolts tighter than the other.

i'll take (A) a rough sealing surface

the flange/pipe was pretty beaten up.

No, Remflex is one of the two suppliers of worthwhile slant-6 manifold gaskets. The other is It is very much worth your while to get the this outfit. Both are good quality gaskets, but I tend to throw my support behind the Australian outfit. Not only do they ship the gaskets to North America lightning fast and cost-effectively, but they are also developing high-tech head gaskets for multiple versions of the slant-6, and I like to support them in that effort (not only sending them $$ for manifold gaskets, but also demonstrating to them that slant-6ers are a big enough market to make parts for).

Just as an FYI, as of 2006 Mr.Gasket discontinued their 'fat' paper gasket...
In Salem, OR Performance Racing Equipment on the Corner of Portland Rd. and Pine St. in Salem is now carrying Remflex gaskets... looks like about $15 per gasket for the slant-6 (which is about $2 more than the Mr Gasket 320G used to go for. I got to look at a remflex gasket for a 351C and they look pretty good.
