Post subject:  Offenhauser group buy?

If you have noticed the parts wanted section lately Pharmboy and I are both interested in a finned Offy valve cover. Since you don't always see these parts used we thought about seeing if this was also on other slant members shopping lists. So if you are interested in any new Offy parts please let us know. We will be contacting venders to see if anyone would be interested in giving us some sort of group discount. Pharmboy has already contacted one vender who has some decent prices and is waiting for a reply. Again if you are interested in new Offy parts or have suggestions to better acomplish this goal, please let us know. Thanks!

(Please use this thread for discussing the valve covers and intakes themselves. To participate in the group buy, please go here. --mod)

68 cuda, thanks for the suggestion but we have found other venders with a substantial savings over the vender you have mentioned. We probably will include them/contact them with our group buy interests though.

A few years ago we did a group buy on Offy valve covers direct from Offy. At that time they sold them to us for around $100 plus shipping. They all had to be shipped to one person, and he sent them out to the rest of us. :D

Zilla THANKS! Now we are talkin'! Do you remember who coordinated this and how the contact was made? Why couldn't we do this again only include intakes as well? I and (I think Pharmboy) would be glad to do the leg work! I also have a close friend at the Fed Ex hub in Indy who may be able to help / give advice with shipping! Anyone with suggestions or info please chime in!

As of 2 minutes ago, Summit wants $185 for a valve cover.
If we can get an Offy valve cover for 100-125, I'm in, but also a bit flexible on that price, too. Pencil me in for one.

Thanks to all for your interest! 68 cuda, the summit folks were cheaper than who? Thank you very much for the Offy contact info! I am thinking of drafting a letter to these folks and posting it for members approval/suggestions before the contact is made. Please feel free to keep posting ideas -suggestions and interest in all things Offy! :D Pharmboy said'"This community rocks!" I think he is on to something! :D

I can vaguely remember who our contact was that arranged the deal. It was done through the old .com board.

IIRC, it was Daniel Laray or something close to that maybe.

As I mentioned on the parts wanted section, www.aaamarine.com has the valve cover for $164.95. I emailed them today to see about a volume discount, but since it's a holiday weekend, I think it'll be Tuesday at the earliest before I hear anything.
