I've mentioned this before, but if you go on Ebay you can type in Toyota minivan V6, or just about any snooze-alert car made, and find SS headers for $139 a set. They don't look too bad from the pics, anyway.

How many people are really putting headers on their minivan? Or their 2009 BMW X3C3POMi?

There have to be at least that many people who would buy a good Slant Six header.

Agreed, a mass produced SS header could be cheap.
But think about applications.
225 would be most popular engine.
Chassis would be some type of A body, 67-76.
Then Auto and PS.
Once you had the design, the jig, the welder, etc, the header would be a simple fabrication task.
I am sure clifford has a sub contractor for his part.
So how big would that market be?

Then to consider the different applications, trucks, vans, race cars, manual trans, etc.

Then selling and supporting the product, would take a dealer type deal.
For our engines, there is clifford and aussiespeed. 2 Vendors.

One of the things I dislike about the clifford is the one size fits all, just not well for any application really.
Too many compromises.

And all these exhaust options are cold intake manifold designs, even the HP manifolds.

CNC mandrel tube bending machines don't seem to be too expensive anymore, I wouldn't know which one to buy. There might be someone on the H.A.M.B. making small quantities of headers. It could be a viable business model.

true, but there is a Clifford slant six intake with a cast in hot water chamber and AussieSpeed has an optional weld on water chamber for their slant six Hurricane intakes.
on my 83 D150 I changed the egr pocket under the carb on a cast aluminum super six intake into a hot water hot spot. Did that as I have dual Dutra's for the exhaust.
With MPFI the need for a hot spot in the intake manifold simply goes away.
So would not get hung up on an exhaust system that does not provide heat to a carburated intake, there are other ways to do it, when necessary.

This is an interesting topic.

And I'm kind of with the OP. Stainless shorties would be nice. But also like the OP, I want a certain "look", and in my case, sound. I'm loathe to give up on my factory gear reduction starter.

So HyperPak manifolds are out of my reach. Long tubes are an option. Or the Cliffords show above, which are almost a mid-length header. Dutra Duals are cool, and probably my top choice. But stainless shorties that could clear a factory starter would by my top choice. Day dreaming perhaps, but there it is.
