Has anyone used the Ram Clutches '98729' 10 Inch Clutch? It is available on Summit, good to 550 hp and is a direct replacement for the slant 6 stock clutch. They cost ~$350 though. If it doesnt explode, its worth every penny. |

Haven't researched their 10" ones yet. I did order one of their 9 1/4" ones (through RaceMart), specified as for a slant, only to be sent something else. When I had'em look into it, they had a screwed up listing for that one, nothing in 9 1/4" for a slant, and changed their listing for that one. I sent it back and am waiting for a refund ...... |

Ram really doesn't have anything for the stock slant (the 11" clutch for the big block will work for the NP435 truck bellhousing/flywheel though)...you are stuck with LUK, Zoom, Spec or a custom clutch application...The next mod would be to use a small block clutch /modified flywheel and an aftermarket bellhousing and adaptor... Already been through 3 10" Spec clutches (stages 2+,3 and 4), so that's out, zoom and LUK are stock type clutches so don't expect them to last if doing daily 6000 rpm clutch dumps on a hopped up slant... -D.Idiot |

That's what I was afraid of. Right now I have a Zoom 10 inch clutch behind a supercharged slant. Soon to be running. I have a feeling I will be going to the custom clutch route in a fairly short amount of time... |

Hey, I used a Clutch Masters 10'' and their billet flywheel. My stuff only makes about 250hp but it really grabs hard. At the time when I bought it they seemed to be very help full, I got the impression that stronger stuff was available and they knew all about the different flywheels. I am using mechanical linkage and so far it works great. My 2 cents. Good luck getting it sorted out Thanks & regards Derek |

Thanks for the input. I know I can spend a whole a lot of money on a clutch, but I also get the feeling that there are some off-the-shelf parts that will likely work with little to no modification. I will keep investigating and let everyone know if I find anything that looks promising for a decent price. Thanks |
