So, I had to take the pump out of my 904 transmission since I made the mistake of not getting the torque converter fully seated. I don't intend to do a full rebuild, but as long as the transmission is partway apart, I'm wondering if there are any other basic modifications I should make while it's out.

This is a turbo motor in a street/strip application that's more street than strip. So I'm not planning to do a reverse pattern manual valve body or the like. I was thinking of doing a filter change and installing a Trans-Go TF-2 shift kit. Are there any other relatively cheap / easy modifications that I should consider adding at this point?

This is a 1966 transmission.

Get an A&A band strut, You can also dicker around with the Lever Ratio - A&A sells higher ratios, and Probably and accumulator blocker - which can be made from a section of AL Tubing..or buy one.

Those are easy mods.

I would say to get into the clutches as well since its a Turbo car, but That involves a total tear down.
Charrlie and others might have other / better ideas but that's what I would start with.

Put the deep Mopar pan (I think it's a Jeep item) P/N 4007886AB
Use the molded rubber gasket P/N 4295875AC

Though they didn't have the plastic servos back in 66 I have taken a liking to the billet ones with 2x the seal rings... The apply ones for the bands have 2 where the one hidden behind the valve body has 4.... A&A can get you those.
Most tranny's I deal with are 80s and newer, have crappy plastic servos.

Thanks, I'll look into these mods.
