I am looking for guidance on the following swap.

My 1980 d150 Slant 6 exploded in spectacular fation. It has a 3spd Auto attached to it.

I found a engine from 1972 similar to mine. But it has a 4 spd Manual gearbox attached to it.

My question is , can i Swap the engine without modification to fit on the Auto trans ?

If included with the motor, 4 speed manual gear boxes and bell housing can be worth a few dollars. Particularly the short tail 4 speed or three speed with over drive have some value.
Back to your ‘exploded engine’ if the replacement motor is from a car you will need to swap over the truck rear sump oil pan and oil pick up.
