I just thought I would ask if anyone has any experience, tips, suggestions, etc. for installing driveshaft loops on an 85 D100. In the event I break something again, I would rather not have to replace my driveshaft again. Does anyone have a brand or style of loop that they already know works well on a truck like this? I figured I may as well ask before I start ordering things.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

The truck has so much space under there I bet any of the bolt in units can be fabricated to work.

Just because you have a driveshaft loop installed does not mean that parts will be magically saved in the event of a driveshaft or other drivetrain failure. It is a safety measure more than a parts preservation measure.

Thanks Greg. I know its not a sure thing, but I figured it can't hurt to have one or 2 under there. While I was under there putting it back together I did look around and it seemed like it wouldn't be too hard to make something work. I guess most people are usually doing this on cars rather than trucks. There was a universal type one on the Speedway site that looked like it might be a good starting point.

It's probably no more work to build one from scratch than it would be to adapt something. I made on for the Slant powered S10. It doubles as a frame stiffener.

Those universal ones show up at swaps too.

Rick can swindle a seller out of one for $0.05 when he was asking $0.25.. :D
