I had leeking exhaust flanges on my engine because of a ported head , and a exhaust header that hade shrinked . So the gasket couldnt seel.
But i had a spare header that was fitting mutch better to the head.
And this time i didnt want to weld in old cast iron..
Her are pics of the new one. I used the adapter from the old one .
Not finish, but nearly..

Very creative and looks like it could be more durable. Thanks for sharing!

Lou

Thomas, do you have some measurements of the plate you made to adapt this, or is it a stock flange that's available for something? I ask because I would quite literally like to copy this idea as I face the same issues every once in a while with my J-pipe setup, too many leaks. Did you have to turn the turbo down from the manifold to clear the intake manifold at all?

Hello Serj, Its a very nice look you have at your car and engine bay. I watch all your movies..

I just took a piece from the scrap box and cut down. Im glad i have an bench drill .
Many small holes to drill  and then you need the big hammer to destroy a chisel..
I have cut away the heat box parts from the bottom of the intake, so there is space enough.
And with my extension , wastegate adapter, its not a problem.
I just had to check for clearance , between turbo and steering column ( for the oil outlet)
Have a nice day Thomas

Thanks Thomas. That makes sense. Also I'm glad to have "fans".

I can sort of see what you did in the picture itself, and it makes almost too much sense not to try. I like the simplicity. I've been dealing with exhaust leaks between the manifolds, the pipe, etc... and I'd like to narrow it down to just that short section like you have.

Very well done.
