After at least a year hiatus, Lemons is going back to CMP in April! (I guess the shiny new pavement is finally broken in  ) What's more, they're re-instituting the Friday night parade and block party in downtown Camden, which hasn't happened since COVID. The one time I experienced it, it was a blast.

We're planning to be there with the EVR Turbo Dart. I wonder how many slant six racecars we can get there at one time. Rob? Jason?

Yep, exciting! I will advocate for Off Kilter Racing to bring the Toadracer. Might see if Jason would let us bring the 64 Valiant too.

Cheeeeers,
Lou

I would prefer to do CMP over Pitt in April.

Let’s plan an OKR Zoomage soon to discuss.

Team OKR conducted a Zoomage meeting Sunday and decided to skip Barber ( ) in February in favor of participating in this event.

Lou and Brian have quite a bit of seat time there.
It has recently been completely repaved.
The track layout is favorable to lower powered/better handling cars.
We have all raced at Barber 2-4 times.
No one has done anything toward planned vehicle improvements yet.
There's a parade and a block party!!

Yep, we'll be there, as Rob said! If time, I'll inquire about Jason's Valiant too...

Excellent! I'll put a bug in the ears of our Soviet counterparts in Austin, too.

It sure would be cool to have 4 Slant 6 cars all on track at the same Lemons race!!

I believe we've only managed two so far at Barber and Sebring...

This sounds like a blast! Unfortunately the 2800 mile trip each way is going to make it a no go for the valiant effort team. We'll be there in spirit though!

You guys represent on the West coast!

Have you started a thread about your car and/or racing? We'd love to know more about what all you do.

Can you use an extra pair of hands in the pits? Just a little over 420 miles for me, and I have some gaskets that need to be delivered. A little early to be for sure, but I think my ex wife will be able to stay with my wife and help her, so I can be away from home more then one day.

We are cashing in our free entry at this race (from our IOE award at NCM).

All crew members get in free! You even get some cool stickers and a patch!

If anyone wants to come and check out this Lemons racing thing, now is a good opportunity!

I re-sent the invitation link to some folks that have raced or crewed with us before. Just follow the link in the email.

Anyone else want to join us, let me know! You'll be a crew member, but we ain't gonna make you do much... maybe...
(We may ask you to wear a kilt or frog costume or play the bagpipes...  )

Right now the roster looks like this:

Drivers:
Perfesser Lou - He's gonna drive ToadRacer to the track about 4-5 hours!
Greg Ondayko - He's prolly gonna drive his cool old Dart all the way from PA. (Needs a nickname... :? )
Pig Pen (Adam Portman) - coming from New Albany, IN
Mater (I can't be a Kentucky Poser no more since I live in North Carolina...  )

Crew/Support:
Lori L. - Coming with Adam from New Albany
Angie S. - Coming with me...
Charlie Schmid - Coming from Ocala, FL (about 450 miles)

Los Angeles, CA -- Today Motor Trend reported that Angie Simmons, against the advice of mental-health professionals, will compete in the 24 Hours of Lemons -- the wheel-to-wheel car race for heaps that cost $500 or less. Simmons's team -- the unpromisingly named "Off-Kilter Racing" -- hits your local track on 04/23/2022 to 04/24/2022, where therapists and junkyard operators are already standing by.

One relative, on condition of anonymity, described Simmons's family as "...saddened but unsurprised" by the news. "Unfortunately, we've come to expect such lapses in judgment," the source told MT.

Friends, coworkers, and relatives interested in staging an intervention and/or watching Simmons do something incredibly embarrassing can find more information on Lemons' race-info page.

So 2 Slants in Competition?

Escape Velocity Racing and Off Kilter Racing?

We should see if we can setup in the paddock somewhat close.

Greg
