At the mason dixon race sunday morning I started up the car and realized that there was no alternator charging.
I swapped on the new spare alternator that I had with me.
Still no charging.
I suffered through all of sunday's rounds with running on less than 12VDC whilst the engine was running.

I got to thinking maybe this new little denso unit needs that sense wire plugged in.
I tried it tonight and yep.. it sure did need that sense wire.
I have a good 13.8VDC or more volts at the battery with the engine running now.

I Also had been running fixed timing for a number or years now with megasquirt.. i have tried 26°,28°, 30°, 32°, 34°, with no apparent performance advantage.

I loaded a timing map into the computer .. will hafta see if that helps anything out sometime.

No Local TNT's here yet. Still too wet from the last 2 weeks of rain, and its getting cold again, back down into the 30's over night due to the clear skies.

Maybe a dry weekend will happen soon.

I removed the car from Storage and Bought some new Rear slicks.
I have run 28 x10 -15's since I have put the car together.

I bought some 29 x11 -15's. I will have to see if they fit. Hopefully I can get to that this week.

I test-fit the larger slicks last nite. Also did some cautionary trimming and mounted the other tire, balanced both, and set the car down to confirm fitment. It felt like old times cutting some rust off of this old body. I maybe lost 2 oz. of the car if that... it was not much, but reminded me of circa 2013 when I was slicing and dicing this thing all of the time! I really need to get back to some of that.

I aired up and ballooned the diameter of the tires a bit in anticipation of airing them back down to maybe 8 PSI. The ballooning should confirm that they clear everything in the wheel well.

I also removed the storage tires/wheels from the front, put the front runners on, and installed the side skirts. I plan on going to the first Local TNT on Friday nite. No rain is planned for a few days here so that should be nice and welcomed by all of the local racers and low-lying communities, as they have been getting high water lately.

We'll see if the larger tire diameter and additional ~4 of circumference will help ET or MPH??!? we shall find out.
