Hi Rick

This is the first time I have been on this site for a very long time. If you make another run this winter I would also be interested in getting one.

thanks Dave M

No new projects just keeping the 6 slant six powered cars running. I am planning on installing the dual four set up on the 69 Valiant this summer. Dual Fours....why.......cause it looks cool. The wagon has three 350 Holley's and now the 69 will have two 450's which you can adjust, how much you need the secondary's to open. Lou will under stand. The rest maybe not.

Very cool, Dave. What's up with the "road" car?

Lou

The "Road Car" is now called the "Red Car" That's the only way my friends can keep track of all my Valiant's.

It's been 5 years but I did drive it around the block for the first time last month. All the glass is now in and what a pain in the butt adjusting the door glass on a hard top. Working on interior this month. Also just put insurance on that car.

So were getting closer. Woodburn is also getting closer !!

Dave

Hi Rick:

I also haven't been to the site in a long time, but things are finally moving forward on my Slant projects. I just made it under the wire and got in on the 5spd adapter group buy, but missed out on your windage tray.

So if you do another run, I am 100% in for a purchase.

My wife and I found a couple YT videos of you racing the other night...keep up the good work.

Thanks

Karl

Good to see you guys Dave and Karl back on the site. Don't be strangers.

I will keep everyone posted here when I do another run. I may have a place that can laser cut them for me. I just have to take a day off work and go see them and discuss the $$$.

Hi Rick:

Try the online laser cutting service SendCutSend

I recently had 10 sets(20 individual units, but 5 sets each of two different shapes) of custom distributor weights made, and the price and service was excellent. Just upload your .DXF or .DWG and get an instant quote. $29 minimum order and free shipping in the USA out of Las Vegas I think. It is a mostly automated service but the pricing was far better than anything locally. The web site is simple, just upload and verify the drawing, choose a material thickness and alloy, then play with quantities for a pricing structure.

There is a couple different companies offering this service, but all of them were far higher costs on low volume orders, but then come in line with sendcutsend as the volumes increase. I've used the site to quote a few other items that I plan on producing in the future, such as the laser cut frames for my production model steam engines, and the price was good for those as well.

I've only purchased the distributor weights so far, I usually regrind factory units with a custom shape to achieve different leverage and clearance, I can now save 20-30 minutes each distributor build by just choosing one of my two styles.

Normally, I laser cut stuff myself at work, and initially made prototypes on our laser, but then when I needed to do a production run, we decided to move the laser, which then caused the heat exchangers to fail. I just got done rebuilding the laser, and installing and aligning new optics. However, it is only 500w, and although it would cut your parts and I would be willing, it is much slower cutting steel than the industrial machines at sendcutsend, and I think you would get better pricing from them than I could supply with material, shipping, time, and opportunity costs on my side of things.

They offer deburring services as well, however, a drill with a wire brush, or a fine file can be easilydone buy the end user with the quality of the cuts they provided.

Karl

Yes Rick, Send cut Send might be a viable alternative - and you don't need to take a day off work.. I hear the Boss of yours can be unbearable at times be he's okay in my book.

If you have a flat drawing I can digitize it for you/ send cut send.

Let me know.

Greg

I'll be in touch Greg. Thanks

PS. I suppose you can do a vectored drawing? Looks like that is what they need.

Hi Rick:

If you have even a hand drawing with the dimensions, I can quickly convert it into a CAD.dwg drawing for you.

So if you have any trouble getting it handled by Greg, I'm more than willing to help.

Karl
