Hey, does anyone know whats up with Fisher? I tried the number posted but it was no longer active. I called information and they sent me to an engine balancing shop. the guy down there said that Tim had moved to Long Beach. He was nice enough to give me Fisher's new number. I have called three times in the last few weeks and left messages to no avail. Is Tim up and running in Long Beach? The new number is (562)-234-7224

valiantboy-
is tim the guy that makes those balancers? have you ever used one? i picked one up from clifford about 13 years ago and am now getting around to using it. i'm just wondering how they perform. if i didn't already have this one i think i'd go for a lightweight romac balancer like i used on my 318.

James,
I don't know if Tim makes them or not I have only left messages on the answering machine. It says something like "this is Tim at Fisher concepts"..... I have never used one, I am trying to build a hot strip engine with some street and I need to upgrade the balancer. From all I have read Fisher is the only one who make one with a pulley groove for the altinator. Does that other company build one for the /6 with a pulley groove?

Romac balancer has the pulley groove. Another cool Aussie part.

the fischer balancer i have does not have a pulley groove. it requires a gm style 3-bolt pulley be used with it and the water pump/alternator pulleys need to be moved forward a bit. one of the reasons i have never used it.

A couple of years ago, Fisher posted that they could make their balancers now with a pulley groove in the stock location. Don't know if anyone bought one.

Mike has a Fisher balancer that he got from Clifford a long time ago. He really likes it.

Sweet, Lou how do I go about purchasing one of these Romac balancers? Do you know their phone number and address?

There is one on Ebay right now. They are charging a bit of a high price, but not outrageous. I don't know how to get ahold of Romac since I got mine through a friend. I might do a group buy, but not for a while - no time.

Frankly, the stock damper works fine unless you are doing a crazy buildup.

If anyone wants to order a few of the Romac's, I'm heading to Australia in 2 days, and will be sending a container back here in a couple of weeks... I can toss a bunch in there and save some cost over airmailing them over perhaps ?

OK, I found it on E-bay, sold by Maddog Racing they want $269.00 a little steep but possibly doable. OzHemi do you have an idea what it would cost from you? I am leaving on Wednesday for a four day fishing trip but I will be here after work, about 6pm pacific time. Maybe we can work some thing out.

Valiantboy,

You might consider going in on a group buy with OzHemi. You could probably make a few bucks and provide a service to the community here. I have done this in the past, as you know, but have no more time right now.

I don't know a cost off hand, I am leaving tomorrow actually myself for Australia, and will be flat out rounding up parts and such to load (along with unloading a container I sent there) , so not sure how much time I would have to organize the deal. I can try and get a price though soon as possible and perhaps just post it, and let everyone work out a deal and try to get all the money together to order them perhaps? Or if anyone else has already bought them from there, I would be more then happy to just get the bunch of them and ship them here as well.
I'll see what I can do in the first week I am there though, and let everyone know !
