Folks,

I believe my fuel sending unit is PN 2240 726. The various catalogs say the pre-'89 Chrysler senders have a range from 73 down to 12 ohms. Is this right? Since I have a 64, can I assume the senders are all the same from say '61 to 89 in terms of 73 -12?

Thanks

I have an alledged NOS sending unit for a 65 Dart. The resistance range on it is 10.5 to 73.6 ohms. The numbers stamped on it are 4051(space)003(Pentastar)0702. I say alledged because I do not have the original packaging and haven't bothered to run the numbers. FWIW, I bought it at the local Dodge dealer. Hope this helps.

4051 004 is the last/latest factory P/N for the '63-'74 A-body sender, still nominally available, and it's not unusual for actual parts to have stamping or casting numbers a digit or two sequentially "off" from the catalogue numbers.

Hope you find the truck sender you're after! When I was at the auto parts trade show in Las Vegas earlier this month, I found the Taiwanese maker of the all-stainless new senders that a couple vendors are selling on eBay. They have lots of different Mopar designs, but none listed for trucks made after '59. If we could determine the physical compatibility (yes/no) between '61-'71 D-series pickups and '57-'60 items, we could probably get somewhere...
