The rumor that there was a diesel Slant has been confirmed. In the "Mopar Muscle" interview with Forrest Pitcock he says that he worked on not only a turbo-diesel Slant, but also a turbo-diesel 2.2 motor. Forrest was an engineer/dyno operator for Chrysler in the '50's,'60's and '70's. He did say that while they got good power from both motors, they could not make either one get any fuel mileage.
