Well, I can't view the photos, but if you have a Notchback, I love it! I've wanted one ever since I saw Stan Aiton's with a Hyper Pak waaay back in 1991 or so. I'll have one some day... It's just too bad about those hideously unsafe headlights on your car. What were you thinking man! :roll: :lol: 8)

If you REALLY want some rims/tires like that.....I have a set of solid 15 X 15 centerlines like on my Barracuda w/ brand new 18 1/2 MT's on them.....fairly cheap!!

Love both of the cars. Hate the cuda's headlights.

For some reason when those overly bright blinding headlights come up behind me at night, I tend to drift over to the right side of the road, and wind up throwing gravel and other debris up behind me. It does seem to make them back off, or pass me quickly.

Those lights are pretty offensive and I have'nt even hooked them up yet. :lol:

I don't plan on doing much night driving, if any at all, so I guess I plan on keeping my frontal stone chips to a minimum. :wink:

Yeah, I'd nose dive real quick if someone did that to me, but I try not to purposely damage other peoples property like that, but I will tap my brake (lights) a couple times if they are riding my butt and blinding me, or wave them around if they don't want to back off.

Alot of people packing guns down here, and that, to be quite honest, keeps people from doing things like that to eachother.

Well when someone comes up from behind me with those kind of lights, I figure they are already trying to purposely wreck and kill me by blinding me. True they might be "packing" and I might be too. Also NC law state that "road debris" hitting your car are your fault for following to closely.


Though there are not as many people running those lights on the streets around here anymore, as the DMV started doing their job. I know of a few people in NC who had to have a wrecker take their car home after being pulled over for those blinding lights, as they are considered off road equipment. As an inspector, when I see those lights on a new car, I fail them, and anything else I can find with a "fine tooth comb" that would otherwise be overlooked.

It is not as bad as my buddy in high school who had some monster off road lights in the grill of his Aspen, and under the rear bumper. Those could instantly blind someone who was "hi beaming" him.

So, how are you enjoying "anti-aftermarketlighting.org" so far? If you think we're tough, you should stop by "nonoriginalpaintcolors.org" and show 'em that orange Barracuda. They're just brutal over there!

The problem isn't "aftermarket lighting". The problem is bad and dangerous lighting. There are plenty of good/safe aftermarket lights.

Unlike most of us slanters, a lot of guys fix up their cars and only drive them rarely, under ideal conditions. It's like if someone shaves their windshield wipers, or mounts a pair of slicks out back. Personally, I prefer to build cars than can be driven anywhere, anytime. But that's me.

I know you're the lighting expert, Dan, and one would be a fool to argue lighting with you (poor cudaspaz din't know what he was getting into). That's why you're probably the only person on .org that would've noticed the headlights unless they were pointed out. I'm a detail-oriented artist by trade, and I didn't. (But maybe I'm not very good at my job...)

The guy is just proud of his cars just wanted to show them off. I think this thread turned into a series of rants about bad lighting, and ventured off topic. Heck, his headlights are no more than placeholders. Geez.

I say again, cudaspaz, NICE CARS. But you don't drive those things beyond the posted speed limit, do you... ? :lol:

They worked mighty fine in my bro in law's porsche and he loved them.
Dan's right, those may look great (I really do like they way they look when they're turned off), but they perform like poop. You would not BELIEVE the difference between those and a set of good Cibie headlamps. Its not an option for your Barracuda, unfortunately, but the Cibie complex-surface reflector technology headlamps that are available for quad-headlamp systems are just astounding (Dan- correct me if I'm wrong on that CSRs aren't available in large-round size). The very cool thing about CSRs is that even the low-beam bulb has no filament shield. Instead of generating a lot of light and then blocking half of it with a filament shield, the complex reflector captures ALL of the filament light output and then uses it all to form a low beam pattern- so they are about twice as bright for the same power input to the lamp (now Dan is cringing because I'm giving such a simplistic description of how it works ;-) ). But even "ordinary" H4 Cibies will be a night-and-day difference to those diamond-cut lense things that you have, so you could use a pair of them instead. Oncoming drivers will thank you. ;-)

Nah, I'm not bothered by a little constructive criticism.

I will say that the responses prompted me to ask my brother in law about the h-4's that are in the cuda that used to be in his Porsche.

If I remembered correctly we checked the lights to see if they were blinding to others.He confirmed that he and I tested them with me in front of him at night, and I was not blinded by his lights.
I thought that was the case.

Thanks for making me feel welcome though.
