I'm planning to make the fuel line conversion and was wondering about the special fuel injection hose clamps you mention in your post:

http://slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15778

How do they differ from regular hose clamps? I bought all the required pieces yesterday, but forgot to specify the special clamps and ended up with regular ones. Is there some reason they should not be used for this application. As usual, your advice is much appreciated.

Roger

Difference is that the FI clamps have rolled edges and smooth inner surfaces (no direct exposure of the hose to band slots or edges). This is because while the EFI hose has much higher burst strength and much lower fuel permeability, it is also more sensitive to clamp abrasion. You can also use the ratcheting squeeze-type plastic clamps, or even (yuck) spring-ring clamps. But if you're using metal clamps, they really need to be the EFI type.

Ok, I see. Thanks very much for the explanation (and for the pic, too - Boom, very helpful).
