Hi,
for my french 65 dart with 170 ci and automatic transmission, i don't know what to choice ?
The engine will be mild tune at least.
Today, the engine runs with a clifford intake manifold, a 390ci holley four barrel, and a electronic ignition.
I want to increase valves, cut the head, and probably change the aac.
What kind of exhaust does i need?
I read topics about dutra duals, and seem to be good, but i also see the job of Bren67cuda904 with clifford headers.
What will be the most logical choice ? maybe th dutra because less expensive.
But for performance ?

Thanks
Mat from France alone with a slant in a country who people prefer V8.

Since there are no off the shelf headers that fit the low-deck 170...

Could you please explain a little bit "Since there are no off the shelf headers that fit the low-deck 170"
Thanks

Your going to be modifying the headers, or scratch building a set.

The 170 engine's exhaust ports are 25mm lower than the 225's ports. The bottom of the block sits in the same place no matter whether it's a 170 or a 225. Headers are built only for the 225; the lower ports on the 170 prevent headers fitting on the 170 without hitting various components.

Dutra Duals are probably a better choice anyway.

Votre effort me touche beaucoup.

Ok, I've understood that i can't put headers because of the low deck exhaust block. Headers like Hooker are built for 225 ci, but i knew that clifford produce headers for 170 ci ! is this real ?
As i could read in topics, deal with clifford is not efficiency.
Then, as you propose Dan, i will ask Mr Dutra .

Au fait, Headers in french are " collecteurs d'échappement".

Clifford has not built 170 headers for a long time.

Hookers will not fit a '66 and earlier A-body no matter what engine you have.

Some board members worked with a couple header builders a couple years ago to get 170 headers built, but both guys turned out to be a con artists and none got built. :(
