Just Curious. I used to see a couple slant powered Belvedere's ( I think they were) run at Ware Shoals drag strip. They were blue and had 6=8 on the fender and 225 c.i. on the hood. I enjoyed watching them run. They had very ANGRY sounding slants in them. And if I recall they ran in the 7 second range in the 1/8. By chance are those guys a member here? I'm wanting to say it was a father and son team. Not sure. But it sure was a nice break from the ordinary SBC and BBC to see them go, and the crowd loved them.

Depending on how long ago you could be talking about the father and son from around Edgefield SC??? Morgan? I thought they ran early 60's a bodies. I sent them flyers for a couple of years when I started promoting races but never heard from them and they never showed up.

They had stopped running the slant 6's by 2004-2006 timeframe. I think there was a picture of one of their cars in the 10th anniversary edition of the newsletter??

That was probably them. The time frame is right as I would frequent that track about that time frame. The cars may have been early a bodies, honestly at the time I didn't know what they were. The top of the rear quarters were kinda finned. Anyway, too bad they quit cause they had them slants MOVING. Would love to have one of them, errr maybe just a cylinder head as my porting skills are non existent.

Tom Drake is probably right. James Morgan and his Son Wayne both had 60-61 Valiants that could run in the 7's. One was blue and one was red. That would have been about 1998-2001 or so, they were from Honea Path, SC

My parents are both from that neck of the woods. Wouldn't it be cool if both those cars are just sitting in a barn!
