Does anyone know the part number for the dynomax turbo mufflers that everyone seems to be using? I like the idea of not being too loud, but gain a bit performance wise. Besides; is it ok to go from 2.5" to 2.25" and then to 3" and then back to 2.50", etc, exhaustpipe? I'm not saying I'm going to do this, but I'm interested in the physical side of this story, to do or not to do?

Walker part# 17731, 2.25 inlet/outlet, fits A-bodies very well, and it's only 35 bucks from Summit.

I don't know about shipping to you though
Changing the diameter, therefore volume, of the pipes plays with the velocity of the gas. You should minimize these changes to avoid weird backpressure pulses. The gas contracts as it cools, so smaller tailpipes usually are ok, but I wouldn't go big-small-big-small or whatever.
My 2 bits (25c, don't want to sell myself short :D )

Hi Jerry,
Good to hear your also made your own console, I've painted mine 2 days ago, (I'm re-painting the whole inside of the car btw) I'll make a picture of it when it's in the car again.
Have you got a picture of your console, I'm wondering how it looks! :?:

I already ordered two Dynomax turbo mufflers, they should be here the end of this week, hopefully.
I want to go from the clifford dual headers into 2.25" pipes, to the mufflers, then 2.25" over the axle and some 2.50" or maybe even 3" end pipes under the bumper for the looks.

Anyone who knows how 2 of those dynomax's will sound on a dual exhaust system, It looks that most of the guys over here use them on single 2.25" exhaust systems, right?

Can't wait to try! (Finally!! They will be put on after the new engine is dropped in, in about 4/5 weeks. And the car goes to the painter on the 5th of July! :D )

65 Dutch Dart...I tried and get a picture of my console, it was something that I did in a day....Also those dual Dynomax should sound great, I think the headers will really help a lot.....I just have a single going into a 2 1/4" all the way...Jerry
