I am new to the slant 6, learning fast. My car is a 1971 Duster, but I think my engine came out of a early 80s Pickup. Pretty sure I have what is referred to is the "peanut" head. It does have the air injection port in the back (plugged). I am in the process of getting the engine to run reliably. doing all the usual, carb, ignition, timing. Figure I would replace the valve cover gasket when I go to adjust the valve lash. I am not sure which gasket will work for mine. This engine definingly has an oil leak somewhere as it had a nice thick coat of grime over it.

Welcome to the club. That's the '81 and newer hydraulic lifter engine so there's no valve lash adjustment to be done.

could be... valve adjustment or not, who knows what hodge podge of parts someone put together.... hell know when he gets that cover off for sure!!!

If you ask for a 1981 Dodge pickup or diplomat, you'll get the right valve cover gasket. Application range is 1981-1987 trucks and cars with Slant 6 (225, 3.7L) engine.
