Halp! What part(s) of a slant sit level with respect to the ground (apart from the bottom of the oil pan, which is tricky to stick an angle finder to)? I am currently trying to set the 3-degree slant correctly on a T-bucket installation.

Carb mounting pad on the intake manifold.

Thanks! The head on my mockup motor has wonky studs, so we couldn't quite get the intake to sit right. We ended up popping the head off and putting an angle finder to the deck. Thirty degrees there, and we should be good, right? The "eyes" (frame-facing ends) of the spool brackets are sitting at different heights. (A line drawn between them, crossing the engine, would not be parallel to the ground.) I assume that's... normal?
