I'm working with Marshall at Campbell Enterprises on another run of Wiseco Big Bore pistons to go with the 7.005" Molnar rods.

I should have some information to post as early as next week on specs, cost, timeframe, etc.

Hello Rob,

Just a quick update as I do not want you to think we have forgotten about the pistons. Our rep at Wiseco thinks more can be made but he is waiting for his engineering department to confirm they can still get the required raw forgings as well as sourcing and pricing out piston rings for those bore sizes.

I imagine that with the Thanksgiving holiday it will be next week before I have more info from Wiseco.

Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Marshall

Thanks for spearheading this effort again, nearly 20 years later.

The ring packs were standard metric sizes, so I believe they will be available. I have the old part #'if needed for the .104" OS rings.

I'm a maybe on a 3.485 set. I really have too many pistons already.

I have interest in a set of 3.504's. Need to know the price before I say I'm in.

Me too! If I'm not mistaken the rings were expensive too.

Do they not just use 89mm import piston rings? I guess import might mean available without meaning cheap. I think the rings for my wifes acura are listed at something like $80 per piston. I looked at hondas 89mm OEM ring pack and they are listed at $62 per hole.

Quick trip into rockauto land found these units. If there was a rod that worked with this piston it would be quite a deal. $48 per pison WITH rings at 89mm. Mahle (if not counterfeit) is an OEM supplier for pistons.

They are not an old mopar ring, but something modern. Not sure we ever determined an application, but I'm sure you can order off the shelf OEM rings if we have the ring dimensions.

I remember the rings for the KB pistons were pretty salty.

The 3.445" & 3.484" are 87.5mm & 88.5mm, std. & 1mm o/s 2.2/2.5L Mopar mills, should be 1.5mm 1st & 2nd rings, not 'special' at all. Unless they did something unconventional oil ring wise.....I'm actually in the wilderness, as when checking in the recent past, a +.5mm option was non-gratis. The listing for a 3.4645" was long gone, just the (2) above & the 3.504"/89mm.
