I need to replace the interior of my 65 Dart GT, it has bucket seats.
I was going to buy:
1. Paddock seat buns
2. JC Whitney vinyl custom fit seat covers, front/rear
3. JC Whitney carpet, I want the cut pile.
Any advice on these items?

Also should I put any insulation under the carpet? Should this be glued down with spray adhesive?

JC Whitney has this available:

http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Prod ... 800GMT0205

Heat Shield Insulation, 48" x 72" Sheet Reg. Price $26.95 Each ZX250705N $19.95

Thanks,
David

I put JC Whitney's polypro loop carpet (the Newark Auto one) in
our 63 dart. It looks good - it took some effort to get it to fit correctly.
And it is not "show original" The heel pad has different pattern than the
original Mopar one.

On this 63 dart we used Legendary covers and Gary Goers foam on the
buckets - this stuff all fit really well. I recommend getting a "spring
ladder" to spread out the load on the springs under the foam. The
original burlap had spring wire woven into it for this purpose. The ladder
has spring wire stretched between two cords which you hog ring down
to the seat springs.

I don't glue or add padding under my carpet - It seems I always need
to pull it out again to change something or dry out the interior - as we
still have some window leaks. The carpet comes with a small amount
of pad laminated to its back and stays in place fairly well - except
where it runs up the firewall - some adhesive or velcro is a good idea
on that area.

I have already ordered a Legendary catalog, but I have to mail away for the Gary Goers catalog. If you have the goers catalog, will you tell me the price of the seat foam for my 1965 Dodge Dart GT bucket seats?
Also, do you have a link to find the spring ladder?
Thanks,
David

The Legendary 65 Dart upholstery is dead on - they used my convertible interior as the pattern. They will also be reproing front door panels and the small panels in the back for the convert - again they're using mine as the pattern. I really need to send them the rear panels for a hardtop, as I'm parting out a 65 GT - was a 273 4 barrel 4 speed factory AC factory 8 3/4 car. As for carpeting, you can't go wrong with ACC - it would be correct including the heel pad. Goes in with a minimum of fuss.

The price of the Goers foam was $160. in 2001 - my price list is
getting a bit dated. The shipping was also up there about $50.
since it is oversize. This price is for an A body bucket set - 2 backs
and 2 bottoms.

I would try Legendary for the headliner - The one I got from them
also for the 63 also fit well.
