69 /6 changed, points, air/fuel filters, plugs. rotor, cap looks good, wires are also good. car starts up, but if i race the rpm's at idle the motor shakes with a feel of a bad miss, don't want to take it to a shop yet! any help will be welcomed p.s i did remove dist. when changing the points

Have you already check your fuel/air mixture in the carb? also check your pcv valve.

Check timing too at idle to make sure you put distributor shaft back in at right spot. And the vaccum hose going to it.

If it was working fine before your maintenance, I wouldn't start adjusting the carb.

Pull each spark plug wire off one at a time while running and see if you can locate the miss to one cylinder.
