Can you put a spacer on the lower ball joint?

I have looked and don't see anything that would work.
The lower joints are not the rebuildable type.
They do sell balls with longer tapered shanks for rebuildable joints.

Well after spending a lot of time and effort I have come to this conclusion.
After removing the steering arm and the shock I moved the control arms through their full arc.
The lower point of travel comes when the lower ball joint hits the edge of the ball socket.
So even though the steering arm comes ever so close to the lower arm.
So even though the shock is at full out stroke.
None of that matters, the control arms won't allow any further down travel.
When I let the Colt down it moves up only 1/4 inch.
That is because the shock has a very large spring on it.
I guess years ago when building the Colt they decided to allow no up motion.
The fiberglass is close, and I guess that was the reason.
Years ago one spindle broke and they were replaced with ones that moved the wheels in, 1/4 inch.
This was because of touching the glassed wheel openings on turning the steering wheel.

Matt, thanks for your input.
Rick, little car has less than well designed front suspension.

So I am going to put it back together and move to the rear and see what I can do back there.

Can you fab longer A-arm brackets to get a better angle on the lower ball joint?

That was mentioned on FABO.
But at this point it would be lipstick on a pig.

Strange used to make a mini-strut, I saw one a while back for sale.
But they are old parts now and need rebuilding.
I will just sell some more parts and save up for real struts and be done with it.

Or find more horse ponies.

Thanks Pops

With no travel in the front it will always be hard to hook.

A good strut front end will make a big difference.
