Post subject:  And the winner is!!!

We had an 8 car field for Saturday's /6 shootout (Gene showed up but didn't race)

Image

And without posting any of the video of all the races tonight, the winner is...
SERGIO!

Image

After a long, hot day Mike J. suggested we go out to the USA Steak Buffet for a bite to eat. I think they may have lost money tonight. I know I am stuffed!!!

My wife. Becky took videos of all the runs. We will try to post them up here one of these days for everyone to see.

I know we had a blast this weekend. Tomorrow is another day of TnT and the track's point racing so I better get some rest.

If you were not here for this event, you missed a great time.

Thanks Mike J. for coordinating everything. It was smooth, on time, and a blast!!!! Can't wait till next year!!! Thanks everyone!!!!!

I just got home around 8:30 this morning after driving all night. Made good time until I got to Des Moines and hit some severe rain storms.

I will post the ladder and some names after I wake up. I'm going to bed now.

Post subject:  The Ladder

First Round:

Glen Terry vs. Lou Madsen-Lou pushes Glen out for the win

Sergio Gonzales vs. Chris Rathman-Chris welds Sergio to the tree but can't run his number

Mike Jeffrey vs. Seymour Peterson- Mike too welds Seymour up but breaks out by .003.

Mike Evans vs. Dennis Schumers- Another gate job and Dennis gets the lucky horseshoe by breaking out less in an ugly run for both.

Round Two:

Lou vs. Sergio- Slight advantage to Lou but he breaks out by .02.

Dennis vs. Seymour- Once again Seymour gets left on, but "Sandbagging Seymour" again feeds the stripe to the other car and is the recipient of another breakout win.

Finals:

Sergio vs. Seymour- Sergio with the best light of eliminations at .013 while Seymour was in a coma. This time Sergio doesn't take the bait and is well safe 2 tenths off his dial and Seymour breaks out while hurrying back to his trailer. :D

Seymour got the $100 bounty from me for beating Mike Jeffrey.

Sergio got the $500 bonus from Seymour for being the winner and from more than 900 miles away.

Again, many thanks to Mike Jeffrey and Lou Madsen (and everyone else involved) for making this event happen. :D :D :D :D :D

Guys thanks for posting updates -- something came up I couldn't make it.
I've met Gene-- we had an interesting time loading a motor in the trunk of his ride.
I don't see the racing bug biting anytime soon -- but sure would have liked to swap stories at the pizza hut. Lawrence

Huh??

So what would you like added for next year? A car show??
Just giving you a hard time. Like I say in Lou's NE post, we need more spectators too! Even if YOU don't want to race, maybe you can bring a freind and turn him to the dark side

Post subject:  racing bug!!

I would enjoy racing-- I just don't see funds available to start a racing project.
I think my goal is to get my 69 dart ready to drive to a meet next year--
I'm going to try to follow Doc's advice --with an hour or 2 a day of work on the car.
Besides it is really easy to give advice in the pits!!!

My '68 Dart is so stock it's scary. I race it alot. Drive to the track, unload all the junk in it that may smack me in the head if something goes wrong, run the heck out of it, load it back up, and drive home.
Exactly what I did this weekend, only NE is about 6 1/2 hours farther than my local track!
