Tom Kocanda. They sold it soon after this race. Bought an Arrow from Alban Gauthier. He bought Sox and Martin Omni/Charger. Colt went to Bob Cope, Medford OR. |

No. Reed had the Hemi match race Omni. He had to sell his shop and almost all his cars. Steve Stako? has the Omni now. |

Thanks Stan! Reed was a really interesting guy. Met him a few times when I was out at Mike's. |

Told you wrong Denis Reed did have the Logghe chassis Colt. They were poor handling cars. He sold it as well. |

Here is another video that surfaced this week. Another qualifying run from the Indy Nationals in 1980. In this pass Donn Patrick is running against the Ex World Champion Bob Glidden's car, a 1979 Arrow. Paul Gentilozzi owned the Arrow at this point. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7cvMqZ093Y I wish the Colt was faster! |

Wow super cool! Reminds me of Charles Myers Arrow and the heydays of Slant 6 drag racing!! What times would they have been running in that 1980 era? Lou |

That's movin' for a car like that. Charles hit low 130s and 9.90s or so before the crash. Lou |

Ok Mark, here you go, something to read. After a long lay off I took the Colt to the track yesterday. I have a new neighbor, Michael Boehner, look him up, 2 Time NHRA World Champ, Super/Gas Division 7. He came with us, and boy was that a help. He likes my little car and wants to help. Anyway, since November at Tulsa here are some of the changes. Lou's recommendation on lash, I need to go back to the old numbers and compare. 3.09 first gear transmission installed after new gears and such. Front shocks adjusted for full travel, front now moves about 1 inch. Used to be 1/4 inch. 50 Lbs. of ballast under the fuel cell. Timing set for 32-34, it bounces, I was shooting for 32. I bumped the shift points 6700, Limiter set for 6900. 2 step on 4200 rpm. 2.75 turns on the clutch tamer. So after 4 runs I did my best run in the Colt. It started launching to the right after we bumped up the 2 step. Went HARD right on the last run. 1.74 60 Ft, 86.61 Mph, 8.0037 ET. I was really thinking a 7 was in the cards but "Missed it by that Much" It was 95 degrees on the last run. Maybe best of all, back on the trailer ready to go again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sU2Luk7tBJ0 |

That is my very best time also in the 1/8 mile. That would be about a 12.70 ish quarter. You definitely pulled the front wheels. |

Hopefully Mr. Boehner can figure out how to make it leave straight. |

Hey pops, sounds like “The Colt” might be a contender after all. Congratulations on finding some help that was not scared off by being slant powered. Good news, it’s getting there. Jr. |

As the youngsters say, maybe it just needs a driver mod. Jr. As Bob Glidden said about his EXP, "It's hard to win when your opponent is running 1320 feet and you're going 1350.". |
