At first you may think that these men are praying or something. But such is not the case. The were try to figure out why Ryan's truck, that his brother was driving, was running soooo bad. I thought it had jumped time. But guess what it was. The coil wire had broken off! So how many Slant Sixers does it take to fix 1 wire? Apparently 10.

I just rolled into the homestead. Left the track, and drove down to about 50 miles before Richmond, Va. Got a room for the night, and hit the road, again, about 7:00am Monday. Made it home, without any problems.
Great weekend.
PS: My best time slip was 13.102 @ 99.65 mph.

Big congrats on the race win, and the super fast times, Charlie. Glad you made it home fine. You might have even made it home a few bucks richer, if I count right!

Charlie, glad to see you made it home ok. Congrats to you on the win and the 99mph runs. Im really glad you made it up to race again this year.

Lou it was great to race you in the finals this year the final rounds are very exciting. Congrats on your 2nd mason dixon win! I hope to get time to make it to another race or 2 this year.

I had a great time hanging out and racing with all of the slant six guys. We had a great weekend and the guys set a bunch of new records. Great way to start the year off. It was especially cool to finally see Will's Barracuda in action, and I was amazed to see Seymour's street car run mid 13's.

I will hopefully get some time soon to put a video together, and I will post it on here then.

Great seeing you all, and hope to see many of you later on in the racing season.

I left Hagerstown at 6AM on Sunday morning and I saw Lou out working on his truck in the motel parking lot ?? Avoided most of the rain and got to Madison, WI about 7PM, wathced a couple of hours of drag racing and got my first good nights sleep in a while. Got up at 5AM and got home about 10 on Monday. You put on a great race at Hagerstown and it was fun to be with some many old friends. Thanks to everybody who made this possible. The car ran great on the whole trip, averaged 23 MPG and ran nice at the strip. More important this is the first time that the engine doesn't leak oil. You could park this baby in your father in-laws driveway!

Seymour it was really great to have you come in. Your car is the total package as far as I'm concerned! 23 MPG, running Mid 13's and driving 1000+ miles to and from the track. Great job. You and Lou are the only ones that do that on a regular basis.

Come back any time!

Rick

I am glad I decided to make this race. Granted it is a long pull, and I will be tired for a week, but it was great. My first win on Sat, best run ever on Sun, and my first missed shift with a pushbutton shifter in the first round.
With the prize money, and the parts I sold, combined with the good fuel milage of the Toyota, I did arive home, with a little more then when I left.

Aaron & I left red roof about 9 am, stopped to gawk in a couple of places ,ran a while in the fog through the Pocono range, a little rain in places, rush hour traffic in Hartford Ct. Got home at about9:30 pm ! We really enjoyed being with all of you .Esp glad Seymour & Charlie made the long haul! 3 hundred dollar fill ups got us home. About 685 miles. Many thanks to Rick for all the effort you put in to make it a successful event!
Aaron corrected his shifting problems and says watch out next year when he will have more experince. I was very pleased with his progress considering his limited experince. Really enjoyed the weekend and see you all next year Ron Heath :D  :!: :!:

Post subject:  New faces

It is certainly different than any other class of racing. We are a small little family. Ryan and I met some more folks from New York who come down to the Mason Dixon meet and they said the would like to race with us next year. Should pick up a few more cars by then and have 2- 50 point races! :D

Charlie already admitted that he made money and since his wife told him to get out of the house, I see know reason why he can't come back and defend his title next year. And Mister Twister, you might as well tag along!

Good times! Rick

Great race reporting to you all. Congratulations to Charlie who is the only slant sixer I have met. I raced for the first time last October in renolds, GA with my stock Belvedere 3-speed against Charlies Barracuda and his Valiant. Charlie and his friend who drove the Valiant were great teachers for a 59 year old rookie. Sounded like a great weekend of racing. Hope I can be in another race sometime and meet some of you.

I guess we were very good teachers, since he beat both of us.
How about making it to Bristol,Tn. Clay City, Ky. or Knoxville, Tn.
